That enduring pilot credo helped define Boeing as a brandsynonymous with safety. For much of the 20th century, Boeing's airplanes were the envy of the global aviation industry. In 2019, however, Boeing's reputation suffered immensely after two of the company's 737 MAX planes crashed within five months of each other, killing 346 people.
